Dallas Mavericks big man Dereck Lively won't play in Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Bad news for the Dallas Mavericks as big man Dereck Lively won't play in Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, tests on Lively's neck have returned positive, but TNT's Chris Haynes reports that he is out for the potential closeout game.
Lively was injured in the Mavericks' Game 3 victory and was subbed out to never return in the second quarter. The team later announced that he had a neck sprain.
He hit the back of his head on the knee of Karl-Anthony Towns on a rebound play in the second quarter. The Mavericks rookie was on the ground for several minutes as the game halted.
Lively was able to get back up but was helped off the court by teammate Markieff Morris, who went to the locker room looking wobbly.
The Mavericks have taken a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Timberwolves.
