After nine seasons in the NBA, Mike Scott is set to make his EuroLeague debut with ASVEL.
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne continues to build its roster ahead of the 2023-24 campaign with the arrival of Mike Scott.
The 35-year-old American power forward has played 612 NBA games over nine seasons (2012-21). Drafted in 2012, he made a name for himself in the Big League with the Atlanta Hawks. Then passed by the Washington Wizards and the Los Angeles Clippers, he ended his NBA career in 2021 in Philadelphia, counting ten seasons and more than 600 games across the Atlantic.
With SLUC Nancy in 2021-22, Scott averaged 16.6 points on 50.9% FGs including 37.1% on 3-point shots and 6.6 rebounds. The following season, he moved to Puerto Rico for the Carolina Gigantes, where he won both the championship title and Finals MVP honors. Scott produced 24.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per night.
“Mike has shown in recent months that his qualities are intact," coach TJ Parker said.
"He quickly regained his level of play and will be very complementary to our other players in the frontcourt. He is a real offensive talent, a quality long-range shooter who will be able to stretch the floor and open up space for our big men.
He is also strong with his back to the basket, knows how to adapt to the opponent, isn't selfish and always favors the extra pass. His experience is immense," the French tactician concluded.
