Achille Polonara is nearing a two-year agreement with Virtus Bologna, sources tell BasketNews.

Achille Polonara is edging closer to making a comeback in his home country. BasketNews sources indicate that the 31-year-old power forward is close to signing with Virtus Bologna.

According to BasketNews sources, Polonara nearing a two-year contract with the historical Italian club.

The initial report on the progressing negotiations came from Alberto Marzagalia of EuroDevotion.

Polonara began the 2022-23 season with the back-to-back EuroLeague champions, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, but made a mid-season move to Zalgiris Kaunas.

Over the course of 35 EuroLeague games, Polonara maintained an average of 3.9 points (37.9% 3P) and 3.4 rebounds in under 15 minutes of playing time.

In the LKL, the Italian big averaged 6.7 points (60% 2P, 31.7% 3P), 6.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 20 minutes of play.
