Shane Larkin played in his first game of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers 2023, helping Turkey (1-1) handle Great Britain (1-1) 84-67 (16-23, 21-14, 23-17, 24-13).

Great Britain dominated in the first quarter, gaining a 23-10 lead toward the end. But Turkey answered with a 15-0 run to put themselves in front (25-23).

Larkin led Turkey to another run in the third period, with the team increasing their advantage to 14 (60-46). Even though the visitors cut their deficit to six (54-60), Turkey kicked into high gear and ran away from Great Britain, winning by 17.

Shane Larkin led Turkey with 22 points (6/6 2PT, 1/4 3PT, 7/9 FT), 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals, 2 turnovers, and 30 PIR.

Bugrahan Tuncer was also impressive, ending the game with 17 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds, and 26 PIR.
