In the Group B of the World Cup qualifiers, Belarus (1-0) pulled off the upset and defeated Turkey (0-2)n the first game of the group with the final score of 84-70 (20-17, 23-17, 18-19, 23-17).

In the final two minutes, Belarus increased their lead to a maximum of 17 points (81-64) and finally sealed the victory (84-70).

But once again, Belarus showed more energy than Turkey in the key moments and, with a 10-0 run, led by Parakhouski, extended their lead to 11 (75-64).

Tuncer and Hazer gave the right boost to Turkey to cut down Belarus' lead in the fourth quarter to just two points (66-64).

At the beginning of the second half, Belarus continued great form, extending their lead to 12 points (51-39). Turkey tried to bounce back, and with an 8-0 run cut the lead to just 4 points (53-49).

Maksim Salash was superb for Belarus and finished with 26 points (7/12 2PT, 3/5 3PT, 3/5 FT), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 turnovers, 1 block, and 23 EFF.

Sehmus Hazer was the top scorer for Turkey with 17 points (7/9 2PT, 0/5 3PT, 3/5 FT), 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover, and 11 EFF.

Belarus: Maksim Salash 26, Artsiom Parakhouski 16 (9 REB), Yahueni Beliankou 15 (6 REB).

Turkey: Sehmus Hazer 17, Muhsin Yasar 14 (6 REB).
