After losing to Great Britain in their first FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers game, Greece (1-1) bounced back, taking down the visiting Belarus (1-1) 77-67 (16-18, 22-12, 20-18, 19-19).
Belarus had a slight lead in the first period, but Greece went on a 19-2 run in the second period, gaining a double-digit advantage (38-28). Belarus did not give up, cutting the hosts' lead to one in the third quarter (41-42).
Greece regained a 10-point advantage at the end of the third period (58-48), but Uladzislau Blizniuk's 3-pointer cut Belarus' deficit to two at the halfway mark of the fourth quarter (60-62).
However, Greece finished the game strongly, outscoring their opponents 15-7 during the final stretch, delivering the local fans a 10-point victory.
