The Atlanta Hawks have requested waivers on center Jahlil Okafor, via the official club's report.

This off-season the 25-year-old was involved in a trade revolving around DeAndre Jordan that sent Jahlil Okafor from Detroit to Brooklyn, however, the Nets waived the Nigerian big man.
After that, Okafor was given a chance by the Atlanta Hawks and signed a non-guaranteed contract. But the partnership did not last long.
The 2.08-meter center was drafted third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015. He has averaged 10.4 points and 4.7 rebounds over six seasons with four different teams: the Pistons (2020-21), the New Orleans Pelicans (2018-20), the Nets (2017-18), and the 76ers (2015-17).
Jahlil Okafor represented Nigeria at the Tokyo Olympics, posting 9.0 points (85.7% 2PT), 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 turnovers, and 8.7 PIR over 14.7 minutes.
