After a closely contested semifinal matchup, Ivory Coast prevailed against Senegal 75-65 (17-13, 19-16, 17-19, 22-17).
Both teams shot poorly from the floor, but Ivory Coast managed to secure more second-chance points. Also, Senegal had a shorter rotation, as the Ivory Coast bench outscored their opponents 24-16.
The tournament's leading scorer Matt Costello paced the winners with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Nisre Mimi Zouzoua added 15 points and 2 steals.
For Senegal, Gorgui Dieng had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the losing effort, Brancou Badio added 15 points.
Ivory Coast will play against Tunisia in AfroBasket final on Sunday.
