EuroLeague referees, not once but twice this past week, used the Instant Replay System (IRS) to correct almost identical mistakes that should never have been made in the first place. In both situations, the officials made additional rule errors that had to be corrected later in the game.  The other Rounds 25 and 26 games were not free of other obvious errors as well.

Zalgiris Kaunas lost a EuroLeague Round 26 thriller against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, 87-89, at home, and once again, the spotlight fell on the referees after this crucial game for play-in or playoff positioning. After the loss, coach Andrea Trinchieri was asked about some questionable calls during crunch time that prompted the Zalgirio Arena to erupt in a chant of "F**k you, referees."
