Atlanta Hawks have fired their general manager Landry Fields, who will be replaced by assistant GM Onsi Saleh.
The Atlanta Hawks have announced they are parting ways with General Manager Landry Fields.
Atlanta Hawks / Schedule
Fields will be replaced by assistant GM Onsi Saleh, a former Golden State Warriors executive who joined the Hawks last offseason.
The team also announced that they will begin the search for a President of Basketball Operations and have hired Sportsology Group, a leading provider of strategic advisory and operational support in the sports industry, to direct the process.
Fields was promoted to general manager ahead of the 2022–23 season, after initially joining the organization as an assistant GM in 2020.
Prior to his front office career, he spent five seasons in the NBA as a player with the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors.
During his three-year tenure as GM, the Hawks reached the playoffs just once, in his first season. They missed the postseason in each of the past two years, including this season’s play-in tournament loss to the Miami Heat.
