Stephen Curry expressed a sense of relief after the Golden State Warriors secured their spot in the playoffs with a 121-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
After leading the Golden State Warriors to a crucial 121-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Play-In Tournament, Stephen Curry took a moment to reflect on his team’s victory and what’s ahead in the playoffs.
The Warriors avoided a do-or-die situation against teams like the Sacramento Kings or Dallas Mavericks, and Curry expressed his relief at having a clear path to the playoffs.
"Now with some clarity on who we're playing in the playoff series, a great Houston team that's had an amazing year, for us, just a sense of relief that we have something to look forward to now and excited about the challenge," Curry said in a post-game conference.
In the game against Memphis, Curry and Jimmy Butler were a dynamic duo. Butler did most of his damage early in the game, finishing with a game-high 38 points.
Meanwhile, Curry was there when it mattered, contributing 37 points and ultimately closing out the game to get the Warriors over the finish line.
This regular season, Curry averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 39.7% from three.
They will play their first playoff game against the Houston Rockets on April 20th.
