Michael Porter Jr. is unlikely to be traded by the Denver Nuggets due to strong personal ties with team ownership. The Kroenke family, who also attended the University of Missouri like Porter, hold a long-standing admiration for him.
Despite occasional trade rumors swirling around Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr., it appears he's not going anywhere anytime soon, and the reason goes beyond just basketball.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, per TalkBasket, the Nuggets' ownership group, led by the Kroenke family, is reportedly very unlikely to approve any trade involving Porter.
That loyalty stems from a deeper personal connection: both Porter and members of the Kroenke family share a strong bond through their time at the University of Missouri.
This connection has helped foster a strong sense of appreciation and respect between Porter and the franchise’s leadership.
"Sources familiar with Denver’s internal thinking have indicated that the organization has long found it difficult to imagine a scenario in which ownership would sign off on a trade that involves moving Porter."
This season, Porter is putting up solid numbers, he averages 18.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He’s also shooting efficiently, hitting 50.2% from the field and 39.3% from deep.
