Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jaylen Wells will miss the remainder of the season after suffering multiple injuries in a terrifying fall during the game against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Memphis Grizzlies will have to cope without their promising rookie, Jaylen Wells, for the rest of the season.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Wells has been diagnosed with a broken right wrist, a concussion, and facial lacerations following a horrific fall during Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Wells had been on the fast break, attempting a two-handed dunk, when he was mid-air and pushed by Hornets guard K.J. Simpson.
The contact caused Wells to land awkwardly on his right arm and face, leading to immediate concern from both teams. Medical personnel quickly attended to Wells, who was then placed on a special stretcher and taken off the court after sustaining a suspected neck injury.
Wells enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign in the NBA, as he averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 10.1 PIR in 79 games played, vying for a All-Rookie First Team selections.
