Joventut Badalona announced the extension of their contract with Ante Tomic for three more seasons (2+1). Hence, the Croatian center will stay in Catalunya at least until 2027, when he turns 40.
Tomic has been a basic piece in Dani Miret's schemes, and is completing a great season, with an average of 14.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 25 ACB games at an average of 25 minutes per game. He currently ranks first in PIR, 7th in scoring, and first in rebounding per game.
This season he has been MVP of the month of October and February, and is on track to be MVP of the month of March.
The center from Dubrovnik, who turned 38 last February, is the foreigner with the most games in the history of 'la Penya', with 271 games played.
"To feel at home; because I want more MVP and because I am at my best, I will be green-and-black until 2028", assured the center in a video published on the Catalan entity's social networks.
Tomic arrived at the Penya in 2020 from Barca (2012-2020) and had previously played for Real Madrid (2010-2012). This is his 16th ACB season overall.
