Billy Donovan, head coach of the Chicago Bulls, recently shared his thoughts on coaching the promising young talent, Matas Buzelis, highlighting what makes him stand out as a player.
Donovan praised Buzelis for his mentality, emphasizing how the young player craves challenges and growth.
"He wants to be challenged. I love that as a coach," Donovan said, per K.C. Johnson. "I think he wants the truth and handles the truth."
The head coach also spoke highly of Buzelis’ mindset when it comes to facing adversity and learning from mistakes.
"I really admire and respect how he views adversity and mistakes as the only path forward to growth," Donovan noted.
Earlier, in an interview, Buzelis revealed that he asked Donovan to be pushed to the limits and that he wants to become the best player ever.
This season, the 20-year-old rookie averages 7.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He is shooting 44.1% from the field.
