On Monday night, in the Denver Nuggets' second game of a back-to-back against the Chicago Bulls, Russell Westbrook achieved a historic feat.
With Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon out, Westbrook provided his usual spark off the bench, helping the Nuggets stay competitive in the Western Conference race. In doing so, he surpassed Kevin Garnett on the all-time NBA scoring list, moving into 20th place.
Westbrook scored 14 points, climbing the ranks and becoming just the second point guard in NBA history to reach the top 20 in career points, joining Oscar Robertson, per StatMamba.
In the loss against the Bulls, Westbrook also contributed with 10 assists and 5 rebounds. Jamal Murray added 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.
For the Bulls, Coby White scored 37 points, Josh Giddey put up 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists.
The Denver Nuggets, with a record of 45-28, currently sit in the 3rd seat of the Western Conference.
