Virtus Segafredo Bologna finds itself in a turbulent stretch, with head coach Dusko Ivanovic voicing strong criticism of his players following the team’s recent loss to Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

While Ivanovic refrained from naming specific individuals, his remarks underscored an internal crisis that is becoming impossible to overlook.

"In the second half, there was a really negative surprise from some of my players. They played like losers, wins for them don't matter, but for me for this team every game matters," Ivanovic said in a post-game comment to EuroLeague TV.

According to Corriere di Bologna, per Pianeta basket, Virtus is struggling with both roster construction and overall team chemistry.

The squad initially showed promise following Ivanovic’s arrival in the wake of Luca Banchi’s departure, but recent performances suggest a loss of confidence. Reports indicate growing tension between the coach and management, further deepening the instability.

A major issue surrounding Virtus’ struggles is the club’s ongoing silence. Journalist Luca Aquino notes that, unlike other major sports organizations, Virtus leadership has yet to publicly address the situation or take responsibility.

This lack of communication has left fans frustrated and uncertain about the team’s direction.
