PJ Tucker has yet to hit the floor for the New York Knicks since signing a 10-day contract on March 10, but he still made headlines before Monday’s game against the Miami Heat, this time for his sneakers.

Known for his massive sneaker collection, Tucker showed off a rare pair of Allan Houston’s Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 PE.

The kicks, originally released two decades ago, pay tribute to Houston’s time with the Knicks, where he was one of the franchise’s top scorers.

Houston played nine seasons in New York, averaging 18.5 points while shooting 39.9% from three. He was a two-time All-Star and played a key role in the Knicks’ 1999 NBA Finals run.

While Tucker’s sneaker choice grabbed attention, he did not play in the Knicks’ 116-95 win over Miami. The veteran forward hasn’t appeared in a game this season after being traded from the Los Angeles Clippers and later bought out by the Toronto Raptors.

Last season, he played 31 games, averaging 1.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in limited minutes.

The Knicks (39-28) now head on a two-game road trip, facing the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday and the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday.
