However, the game wasn’t just about the result on the scoreboard. Orlando's star player, Paolo Banchero, got into a heated exchange with Cavaliers guard Ty Jerome during the contest.
In the clip, Banchero can be heard saying, “You only look good because you’re on a good team, weak a** n****,” to which Jerome quickly responded, “You can’t guard, I know that… You def can’t guard me.”
Banchero didn’t back down, firing back, "You ain’t sh*t, trash a** n***," followed by Jerome's retort, "I’ll start on y’all team."
Versus the Magic, Jerome scored 12 points in 25 minutes to add to his season averages of 11.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.
He is further establishing his case for being one of the leading candidates for the 6MOTY award in the 2024-2025 campaign.
On the other hand, while struggling from the field with 27.3%, Paolo managed to make an all-around impact by posting 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists.
