Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet had been dealing with serious ankle problems, but should be able to come back on the court next week.
Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka provided a positive update on guard Fred VanVleet’s injury.
Udoka shared that VanVleet has been "getting some good work in" and is expected to return to the court next week—either Monday against the Orlando Magic or Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns, per Sam Warren of The Houston Chronicle.
VanVleet initially missed 11 games due to an ankle strain but re-injured the same ankle on March 1st when he stepped on an official’s foot during his first game back against the Sacramento Kings.
In 46 games this season, VanVleet has averaged 14.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds for the Rockets. Houston, currently fifth in the Western Conference with a 39-25 record, is battling for home-court advantage in the playoffs.
