Edwards has been embroiled in a legal dispute with his ex-partner, Ayesha Howard, over child support for their daughter. In a recent ruling, the court granted Edwards' motion, agreeing with his argument that California was not the appropriate state to determine child support.

Edwards contended that Ayesha had actually been living in Georgia, despite her claim that she moved to California before giving birth to Aubri, who was born in California. He further alleged that Ayesha filed the case in California to secure a higher child support award.

In his statements to the court, Edwards made it clear he has no interest in seeking custody or visitation rights. He also confirmed that a DNA test, conducted in December 2024, confirmed his paternity of Aubri. Edwards emphasized that he intends to address only the financial aspects of the case.
