The thrilling victory had Anthony Edwards fired up, perhaps a little too much, as he let an on-air expletive slip during his postgame interview.
"Way to f*cking hoop, y’all!" Edwards shouted while celebrating with teammates Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaden McDaniels.
A courtside reporter quickly stepped in, but the raw emotion was understandable after Minnesota closed the game on a stunning 16-0 run in the final 3:41 of regulation.
Despite coming off the second night of a back-to-back, the Timberwolves clawed their way back after a sluggish first half, where they trailed by 19 at the break.
McDaniels led the charge with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Naz Reid added 22 points and 11 boards. Edwards, though struggling offensively, nearly posted a triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists.
For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was dominant once again, finishing with 39 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, but his efforts weren’t enough to hold off Minnesota’s late surge. Jalen Williams contributed 27 points, while Aaron Wiggins added 19 off the bench.
The win pushed the Timberwolves into the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference standings, while the Thunder, who have been one of the league’s top teams, suffered a tough loss, struggling to close out a game they had in hand.
Minnesota's stunning rally serves as a reminder that no lead is safe with Edwards on the floor, just be ready for some unfiltered excitement if they pull off another miracle win.
