Former NBA veteran Patrick Beverley responded to Stephen A. Smith's comments about who can be the face of the NBA on X. Beverley doesn't agree with Smith's stance.

Stephen A. Smith made a controversial statement earlier today, claiming that an international player can never be the face of the NBA.

Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley, who recently left Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, responded to Smith on X, sharing his point of view on the situation.

Beverley affirms that he doesn't agree with Smith and that race and nationality can't be a factor.

"Yeah, I disagree. It was a time when no one thought a black man would be the face of the NBA decades ago," Beverley started.

"Basketball is always based on evolution and doesn't matter what race or nationality you are, the face of the NBA could be anyone from anywhere, always love," Beverley concluded.
