Former Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem wants to see the Dallas Mavericks fans move on after the departure of Luka Doncic.
Luka Doncic made his Los Angeles Lakers debut on Monday night, contributing 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists in 23 minutes to help his new team secure a 132-113 victory over the Utah Jazz.
And while the Slovenian superstar seems to have moved on after the trade that got him to LA, the same doesn't apply to the Mavericks fanbase. Udonis Haslem thinks that Dallas fans should focus on their new roster and stop complaining about the Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.
"I got a message for the Dallas Mavericks fans. Get over it!" Haslem told ESPN NBA.
"I’ve had the opportunity to play against this franchise twice in the Finals. One time they beat us, and the second time they didn’t. Be happy because some franchises haven't been to the Finals in 20 years. Get over it," he repeated.
Haslem was an integral part of the Miami Heat roster that defeated the Dallas Mavericks in 2006 and the 2011 squad that suffered an upset by the same team.
“You got a good franchise, Dallas," he continued.
"Be happy that you’ve been to the Finals in the last couple of years and you had an opportunity to watch that,” the three-time NBA champion remarked.
Outside the American Airlines Center, protests are ongoing, even 10 days after the trade, as fans continue to mourn Doncic's departure.
