Gary Payton II is expected to miss at least one more week of action.
Gary Payton II is dealing with a left calf strain and will not be playing with the Golden State Warriors for at least one week, after which his condition will be re-evaluated.
He has been averaging 4.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game this season. Last year, he only played 44 regular season and 12 playoff games with the Dubs due to the same type of injury.
The Warriors will rely more on Stephen Curry and Lindy Waters in Payton’s absence. Curry leads the team in minutes and points, while Waters contributes from shooting guard position.
Currently, 3-12 in their last 15 matchups, head coach Steve Kerr and crew are tied for the ninth-best record in the West. Adding to the misery are the injury concerns surrounding Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and now Payton.
According to reports, Curry has been dealing with a bilateral knee injury management. while Green a lower back contusion.
