Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens center Mathias Lessort has suffered a fibula fracture, prompting an outpouring of support from former teammates and EuroLeague stars.

Among them was Real Madrid big man Walter Tavares, who went out of his way to praise Lessort. Despite being considered one of the league's top centers himself, Tavares called Lessort "the best center in EuroLeague."

"Fast recovery to the best center in EuroLeague," Tavares tweeted.

The two big men faced off in EuroLeague Round 4 this season, where Real Madrid secured a 90-86 victory. Tavares recorded 8 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while Lessort contributed 8 points and seven rebounds.

Lessort has been a dominant force this season, ranking sixth in the league with a PIR of 20.5 per game.

On Friday, the Frenchman underwent successful surgery and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four months.
