"Other names that have come up in talks with team and league personnel over the past few weeks include Utah's Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton, Toronto's Bruce Brown Jr., Portland's Jerami Grant and Robert Williams III and Washington's Kyle Kuzma," he wrote.

"The Lakers are not anticipated to be heavily in the mix for Miami's Jimmy Butler, New Orleans' Brandon Ingram, or Chicago's Zach LaVine," Buha added.

This season, Kessler is averaging 11.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game; Sexton is contributing 16.3 points and 3.1 assists per match; Brown is adding 8.9 points and 4.2 boards per game; Grant is scoring 16.1 points, grabbing 3.6 rebounds, and dishing out 2.3 assists per game; Williams is recording 9.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest; and Kuzma is averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists a game.

The Lakers had previously shown interest in Brooklyn's Dorian Finney-Smith and Cam Johnson, Milwaukee's Brook Lopez, and Washington's Jonas Valanciunas. The latter center was viewed as the most likely target ahead of the trade deadline on February 6.

According to Buha, the Nets perimeter players are names to watch for the Lakers right now.

"Brooklyn is expected to make wings Cam Johnson ($22.5 million but with a likely cap hit of $27 million) and Dorian Finney-Smith ($14.9 million) available -- and much sooner than the Feb. 6 deadline," Buha reported. "Both have been tied to the Lakers for months. The Lakers have been interested in Finney-Smith for at least a couple of years."
