Down by 16 in the second quarter, the Kings' Colby Jones stole the ball and attempted a fast-break layup over the Nets' Ben Simmons. While it seemed like Simmons might have impacted Jones mid-air, no foul call was made.
As the Nets constructed their fast break possession, Kings head coach Mike Brown started shouting and going after the nearby referee who didn't blow the whistle during the episode. He had to be held back by the Kings players and staff.
Two days after the game, the NBA announced that Brown was fined $35,000 for "aggressively pursuing a game official."
Brown has been known for his outbursts toward the referees. Last season, he was fined $50,000 for a similar offense.
