This year's lottery pick of the Portland Trailblazers Donovan Clingan already asserted himself in the conversation for one of the best shot blockers in the league. Clingan now has most consecutive matches with at least one block of any Portland rookie.
Portland Trail Blazers' young core is loaded with potential, and one of its most valuable pieces is the newest rookie out of UCONN.
Donovan Clingan already placed himself in the conversation for best shot-blocker in the NBA, and last night in a 98-104 win over the Houston Rockets he broke a franchise record.
According to Portland's social media, Clingan became the first rookie in Trail Blazers' history that had at least one block in sixteen consecutive games, overtaking Bill Walton who stopped at fifteen.
Clingan nearly had a triple-double against the Minnesota Timberwolves last week. He had 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks in total.
This year, Clingan is averaging 5.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks, playing 17 minutes per match and having a slightly increased role with Deandre Ayton's injury.
