Wenyen Gabriel could be ready to play vs. Zalgiris Kaunas in EuroLeague Round 5.
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv return to Israel on Friday after their double-round week in Belgrade, but once again, they'll have to manage with a depleted lineup in the domestic league vs. Gilboa Galil (on Sunday).
The team will then travel to Kaunas next Wednesday to face Zalgiris in EuroLeague Round 5, but as reported by Arale Weisberg of Walla Sports, they won't have a full squad available for practice until the day before the game at Zalgirio Arena.
Until then, they'll be without Wenyen Gabriel and Saben Lee, who will not be returning with the team to Israel.
Gabriel is in the final stages of his recovery from a knee injury and won't be able to participate in contact training. However, he may return for the matchup against Zalgiris.
On September 23, Maccabi set a recovery timetable of 3-4 weeks for Gabriel to return to practice fully.
Newcomer Lee, on the other hand, will miss almost a week of team practices by staying in Belgrade.
The final training session before the EuroLeague game in Kaunas will take place in Tel Aviv.
