On October 15, BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas reported that the team was close to finalizing a deal with Mays.

At 27 years old, Mays brings valuable experience from four NBA seasons, having played with the Atlanta Hawks (2020-22), Portland Trail Blazers (2023-24), and Los Angeles Lakers (2024). Mays was selected with the 50th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Over his career, he appeared in 105 NBA games (16 as a starter), averaging 4.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 10.6 minutes per game, while shooting 44.5% from the field and 34.5% from beyond the arc.

Last season, he played a key role with Portland, contributing 9.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 22.8 minutes per game over 11 games in November.

Mays will make his overseas debut in Turkey.
