Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain was re-evaluated on Thursday and diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion. Thankfully, he has not shown any symptoms consistent with a concussion, according to Chris Haynes. McCain will continue to be evaluated daily.

The Sixers guard was hospitalized overnight after a hard fall during Wednesday night's preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets.

The incident occurred with about four minutes remaining in the 76ers' 117-95 victory.

McCain was attempting to rebound his own missed shot when he was knocked to the floor by two Nets players going for the ball. He appeared to hit his head on the court and showed signs of physical distress before being helped to the locker room.

In 23 minutes off the bench, the 20-year-old McCain recorded nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Philadelphia selected him with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft after he averaged 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds last season at Duke.
