LeBron James collected 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for only the fourth triple-double in Olympic history. He is also the first player to have more than one triple-double in the Olympics. Previously, Alexander Belov and Luka Doncic have collected triple-doubles as well.
Team USA had a double-digit deficit after three quarters, but the Avengers managed to eliminate it and won the semifinal against Serbia in the end, 95-91. During the game, LeBron James registered a feat that had happened just three times before in Olympic history.
James registered just the fourth triple-double in Olympic Games basketball tournament history. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar collected 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead Team USA during the final minutes of an incredible game.
At the same time, LeBron became the first player in Olympic history to register a double-double more than once. He had previously done it against Australia in the 2012 London Olympics.
The first Olympic triple-double was registered almost 50 years ago by Alexander Belov from then-USSR.
