France and Germany face off for the fourth time this summer, this time in the Olympic semifinal.
With just four teams left in the competition, two European squads battle against each other once again to find out which team will advance to the final of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
For the fourth time this summer, France is playing against Germany. This time, the battle is in the Olympic semifinal, which starts at 5:30 PM CET (11:30 AM ET) in Bercy Arena in Paris, France.
Germany and France played against one another twice in the preparatory period before the Olympics, with each team taking a win away from home. In the group stage in Lille, Germany easily defeated the hosts by a 14-point margin (85-71), which sparked some controversial comments from Evan Fournier.
Rudy Gobert played just 3 minutes and 41 seconds in the quarterfinal game against Canada due to a minor finger injury. He is expected to be fully ready for the semifinal.
This will be the first time in an Olympic semifinal for Germany. France, meanwhile, has played in four Olympic semifinals before.
Two Germans - Franz Wagner (20.8, #4) and Dennis Schroder (18, #10) - make the top 10 list of highest scorers at the Paris Olympics. On the French side, Victor Wembanyama is in the 21st spot with a 14.5-point average.
The winner of the matchup will face off against either Serbia or Team USA in the Olympic final.
