Nikola Jokic had a huge game to lead Serbia past Australia to the semifinal of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. After the match, one of his teammates, Aleksa Avramovic, admitted jokingly professing love to him.

Jokic scored 21 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, made 9 assists, hitting a clutch shot in the last minute, his signature Sombor Shuffle, to put Serbia up by three and essentially ice the game.

At one point in the second quarter, Serbia was down by 24 points (20-44), forcing a fiery timeout from head coach Svetislav Pesic.

"They key was that we never gave up. God gave us energy to continue on -24. God gave us energy and without God, this is impossible. I'm telling you," Serbia's guard Aleksa Avramovic said. "This is not something that we say a lot but without God we cannot open a door, with Him, we can cross the sea."

"Shoutout to him," Avramovic said about Jokic, who one journalist jokingly called a God after Aleksa's last comment. "I told him that I love him after he made that just on +1. Petrusev scored two very important free throws. But we played a very very good game."

"They started very well, we didn't start well. We won the game. That's only what matters," Aleksa concluded.
