Australia national team legend Patty Mills most likely played his last game for his country, according to Olgun Uluc from ESPN Australia.

"This was more than likely Patty Mills' final game with the Boomers," Uluc tweeted.

In the Paris Olympics basketball quarterfinal loss against Serbia, the 35-year-old Mills finished the game with 26 points (11/21 FG, 2/5 3PT, 2/2 FT), 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, and 17 EFF in 35 minutes of play.

Mills also sent the game to overtime with his jumper, but in the end, it wasn't enough.

"We just enjoy every moment of this journey," Mills said after the loss against Serbia. "Hasn't been the smoothest sailing ship, but we do it together and never take those moments for granted."

"Through the thick and thin, ups and downs, the happy tears, the sad tears. It's been an incredible journey to be able to share with those guys.

Mills made his senior national team debut for the Boomers during the FIBA Oceania Championship in 2007. He won the bronze medal with the Boomers in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and has four gold medals with Australia in the FIBA Oceania Championships (2007, 2011, 2013, 2015).

Overall, Mills represented the Boomers in 13 major FIBA tournaments, making 64 appearances in total.

  • Five Olympics (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024)
  • Three FIBA World Cups (2010, 2019, 2023)
  • Four FIBA Oceania Championships (2007, 2011, 2013, 2015)
