Pierce, a former NBA champion with the Boston Celtics, shared his views on the podcast Undisputed, claiming the current Team USA wouldn't have any problems with the 1992 Dream Team.
"This [2024 USA] team would dominate the 1992 team."
Pierce's main argument revolves around the stages of the players' careers.
He pointed out that both Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were at the twilight of their careers in 1992.
In contrast, Pierce believes the current stars are at their peak and would pose insurmountable challenges for the '92 squad.
"Who would defend LeBron? The style of play would have been too much for them. Who would defend Steph Curry? John Stockton?" Pierce questioned, emphasizing the unique challenges posed by the modern game's pace and skill.
Pierce is convinced that the current roster, brimming with talent and athleticism, would easily overcome the team often regarded as the greatest of all time.
