The Los Angeles Lakers and Dan Hurley are expected to meet on Friday and discuss a deal to coach the team.
UConn coach Dan Hurley will meet with the Los Angeles Lakers for the team's head coaching vacancy on Friday.
Hurley is expected to have a sitdown with Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers' search for their next coach "has accelerated" with Hurley emerging as the frontrunner.
Woj also said that both sides are already discussing "a potential deal that would be significant in its length and salary."

Lakers star LeBron James had earlier said that Hurley is "so damn good" and "super creative" with offensive schemes.
The 51-year-old Hurley led UConn to back-to-back NCAA titles.
