Nebojsa Covic confirmed the signing of Uros Plavsic from Mega Basket.
Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade dominated the domestic basketball scene this season, winning all three major cups. The team celebrated their controversial Serbian League victory on Thursday night with around 1,500 fans in the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, marking the end of the 2023-24 season and sparking conversations about the next one.
Speculation about the team's future is rife. BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas has reported that Codi Miller-McIntyre is expected to join the team, while Isaiah Canaan could be another addition on the perimeter line.
At a press conference in Pionir, club president Nebojsa Covic addressed these rumors.
"[Uros] Plavsic and Rokas [Giedraitis] are already signed. With Yago [dos Santos], we will finalize some things [in the near future]. As for the names that are floating around, we have been working on it for the last month," Covic addressed the transfer market news. "It is quite hot that appears in the media. There will be more reinforcements."
The executive also referred to the situation with Adam Hanga.
"Hanga is injured. During these days, we need to see what the situation is with that. He has a contract for one more year, we will see in the conversation with the coach," Covic said.
Meanwhile, veteran guard Milos Teodosic is entering free agency.
"That decision is up to Milos," Covic noted. "If he can endure [one more season], and I think he can. He should stay in basketball even when he finishes his career. That's incredible basketball intelligence that you can't acquire through training."
