Desmond Bane is expected to make a return to the court after being cleared for 5-on-5 basketball activities.
After missing two months of action, Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane is getting close to a return to the court.
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Bane has been doing 3-on-3 basketball activities the past two weeks and progressed to 5-on-5 in the past couple of days.
Now, the Grizzlies expect their star shooting guard to return this season.
"He's been working really hard, so I envision in a couple of games here, he's back in the lineup," Jenkins told the media members before Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards.
Bane was diagnosed with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain. He hasn't played since January 12.
Bane averages 24.4 points, 5.3 assists per game (both career highs), and 4.5 rebounds per game in 37 appearances for the Grizzlies this season. He's also making a career-high 3.3 3-pointers per game.
