According to Marc Stein, who quotes the club, the big man received surgery on his left knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Towns picked up a lateral meniscus tear on his left knee last week and was said to be indefinitely out.
The injury news is a serious blow for the Timberwolves, who are currently sitting in the 1st spot in the Western Conference with 43 wins and 19 losses.
As for Towns himself, he has been having a strong season this year. Having averages of 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game, he was also named to the 2024 NBA All-Star.
