Ratiopharm Ulm has eliminated ALBA Berlin from the German Cup in the semifinals.
ALBA Berlin will miss the BBL-Pokal final after falling to ratiopharm Ulm with a score of 79-87.
The EuroLeague team was down for the majority of the game, but they took the lead towards the end of the game and had a 4-point lead with 3 minutes and 39 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Ultimately, they could not withstand a 9-0 run from Ulm and conceded to last year's BBL champions.
ALBA's Italian duo, Gabriele Procida and Matteo Spagnolo, each contributed 14 points but could not save their team. On the other hand, five of Ulm's players scored in double digits, and Trevion Williams, the team's standout player this season, had a double-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists in the winning effort.
This is the second consecutive year that ALBA failed to make it to the Cup final. Last year, in the 2022-23 season, they were defeated by FC Bayern Munich in the semifinals, which went on to win the cup.
Ulm will go on to meet Bayern Munich in this year's final. Pablo Laso's team had beaten Brose Bamberg with a score of 62-81 and booked a place in the final tomorrow, on the 18th of February, at 20:00 CET.
