According to Biberovic, who spoke to Turkish national television after the victory, the team was motivated by a late 2023 incident that saw Besiktas fans throw coins at Yam Madar, which caused the Israeli player an eye injury.

"We didn't expect to win so easily, but here's the thing: We all remembered what they did to us in the league game, how they treated us. We wanted vengeance, and today, we got it," explained Biberovic, alluding to the Madar incident.

It appears that Biberovic and the team were able to realize their goals, as they blew out Besiktas, and the young player had 13 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists on 60% field goal shooting.

"Hopefully, in two days' time, we will get the cup," the young player said in reference to the upcoming Cup final. "Our fans created a great atmosphere today. They were like our sixth player. I thank them all very much."

That league game, back when Dimitris Itoudis was still Fenerbahce's coach on December 2, 2023, ended with a 68-64 victory for Besiktas.

On Sunday, 18th of February, Fenerbahce will meet Anadolu Efes Istanbul in a championship game to claim the 2024 Turkish Basketball Cup.
