Korkmaz is reportedly entering negotiations with Besiktas. If the move is successful, he would only play in the local Turkish League, as the window to register players for EuroCup has already closed.
After getting waived by the Indiana Pacers, Furkan Korkmaz might temporarily move to play in Europe.
According to Yagız Sabuncuoglu from Sports Digitale, the player is entering negotiations with Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul.
Korkmaz's first interest remains with the NBA, the journalist adds, but the player's side reportedly doesn't want to spend the last four months of the season without a team.
If the move is successful, Korkmaz would only play locally, as the window to sign new players for EuroCup, where Besiktas will compete in the playoffs, has already closed.
Earlier this season, Korkmaz requested to be traded from the Philadelphia 76ers. His wish came true before the trade deadline when he was included in the trade centered around Buddy Hield.
Days later, the Turkish player was waived by the Pacers. In 35 games this season, Korkmaz averaged 2.5 points per game.
