The day before the New Year, FC Barcelona's general manager, Juan Carlos Navarro, made some statements that made rounds in Spanish media, sparking rumors about Willy Hernangomez.

Namely, Navarro said that there were some disagreements within the club about the behavior of some players. 'There had been attitudes on and off the court that we did not like, nor were they worthy of this club or this shirt," he proclaimed.

With Hernangomez's minutes steadily declining throughout the weeks, rumors started going on that Hernangomez was the one who was singled out in Navarro's comment. Asked about Navarro's words before the match against Real Madrid in the EuroLeague, head coach Roger Grimau didn't want to specify things.

"There is no war, there are situations that have not gone well. I try to make everything clear with the players," he said.

"They are team things that occur during the season. They are from the locker room, and they will always remain that way. It's nothing extraordinary. Everything is magnified by the situation we are in, which is not what we would like," the coach explained.

Starting with Round 13, Hernangomez's minutes have steadily declined each round, culminating with just a 7-minute performance against AS Monaco last week. Meanwhile, Barca have lost seven out of the last ten matches. The last two games against Unicaja Malaga and Monaco were lost by 20 points each.
