The Phoenix Suns have claimed the player from the waivers, Shams Charania from The Athletic reports.
Maledon had previously signed a two-way contract with the Hornets, but he was released on December 14th following a year-and-a-half stint with the franchise.
This season, Maledon has been averaging 4.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. The 22-year-old had his best season with the Oklahoma City Thunder in his rookie year in the 2020-21 season when he averaged 10.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
With 14 wins and 12 losses, the Suns are currently 9th in the Western Conference.
