Diop was named the EuroCup Rising Star in 2022 while playing for Gran Canaria. The contract length hasn't been specified.
A few days before the middle point of the summer, Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz officially announced the addition of a fourth newcomer.
Former Dreamland Gran Canaria's big man Khalifa Diop has exercised his release clause in the contract and joined the Basque organization. The club has not specified the length of the contract yet.
The 2.11-meter center spent the last six years with Gran Canaria first in the youth system and then as part of the main team. Last year in the EuroCup, Diop had his best year, averaging 8.2 points and 4.9 rebounds for 10.6 PIR.
His numbers were similar in the Spanish Liga Endesa where he registered 7.6 points and 5 rebounds for 9.3 PIR per game.
The 21-year-old Senegalese player was named the EuroCup Rising Star in 2022. Together with Gran Canaria, he won the EuroCup last season.
