The Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially announced that the player will arrive at the training camp during the summer and will compete for a place in the national team.

"It's a great honor for me and my family to represent the country where my mother was born. It's an honor that fills my heart with immeasurable joy, [it was] my dream since childhood," he told. "I can't wait for the moment when I'll share the basketball court with my teammates from the national team and do my best for Coach Adis [Beciragic], the coaching staff, and Bosnia and Herzegovina."

Garza was born in the USA but his mother, as the player himself indicated, is Bosnian. The center has no previous FIBA experience.

Drafted with the 52nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Garza averaged 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Timberwolves in the 2022-23 NBA season.

Garza will have dual US-Bosnian citizenship. He's already registered in the FIBA system as a Bosnian.
