Gary Payton II had a tough moment during the Golden State Warriors' game against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.

The incident occurred when Payton II drew a charge against Hornets star LaMelo Ball, who accidentally hit Payton in the face.

As a result, the Warriors guard appeared to be bleeding and was seen walking to the locker room with a towel on his face. He did not return to the game and finished with just 10 minutes of action.

After the game, Payton II gave an update on his injury. According to The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Payton had a visible cut on his nose but remained optimistic about his recovery.

He stated that he would be fine and hoped to be ready for the Warriors' next game against the New York Knicks. Despite the hit, Payton is hopeful to play in the team's upcoming match.

The 32-year-old this season averages 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 56.4% from the field.
