For the first time in top European men's basketball competition history, three female referees - Anne Panther, Danjana Rey, and Alexandra Pawlik - were in charge of the match between Veolia Towers Hamburg and BG Gottingen in the German BBL.

At first, the game between Veolia Towers Hamburg and BG Gottingen in the German BBL was supposed to be just a regular match on Sunday afternoon. It ended up being a historic occasion.

For the first time in European top league history, three female referees were in charge of a professional men's basketball game. Anne Panther, Danjana Rey, and Alexandra Pawlik were the three officials of the match.

Panther is an experienced EuroLeague referee and can boast impressive achievements in the top European competition, having been assigned to several Final Fours and top matches throughout multiple seasons.

Rey has been working in the German BBL league for multiple seasons and has been featured in FIBA competitions recently while Pawlik is an up-and-coming official who was refereeing in the ProB league just two seasons ago.

Gottingen ended up winning the match 91-82 behind a joint 21-point effort by Rayshaun Hammonds and Geno Crandall. Kendale McCullum was the top scorer on the Hamburg roster with 25 points in his account.
